No More Hiring Headaches: How to Manage Your Seasonal Staff

As winter turns to spring, many businesses will start hiring seasonal employees to manage the extra workload. While seasonal workers are usually hired for six months or less, they have many of the same rights as full-time employees and are protected under the employment standards and health & safety legislation.

They are also typically entitled to termination notice based on the type of employment agreement signed.

Just as for regular employees, employers have a duty of care towards seasonal workers and are required to provide them with the necessary health & safety training.

Do you know your obligations as an employer when it comes to hiring seasonal employees?
